FAQ Overview

Getting Started

Getting Started with Approved Participants

Registrix is an easy to use microsite service that will allow you to setup a video streaming platform in minutes. The service allows you to drag and drop images, set color schemes, change text, and create an event.

Registrix BYOS, Bring Your Own Streaming Provider, will take care of all the functions around streaming, such as authentic your audience, set up the web pages, which are mobile ready. Then you go into the settings of your favorite live stream provider and setup the event and cut and paste the player information.

If your desktop screen doesn’t show the slide out menu, click on the hamburger icon.

The menu options that are available in the Approved Participants mode are all ordered based on usage. Items that you use less, will be near the bottom of the menu.

  • Dashboard - This Menu item will show you data and charts about how your event is occurring
  • Attendees - This Menu option will display information about your viewers that have logged into the system
  • Events - This is where you will setup and edit events that the attendees will watch
  • Participants - This is where you will upload or edit lists of email accounts that are your attendees. You can also disable these accounts if needed as well as assign them to different groups
  • Templates - This is where you will create the look and feel for the login and watch pages. Youhave as many templates within each template as you want
  • Customization - This is where you setup the system in general and add in 3rd party tracking codes
  • Privacy Policies - This is where you can upload the text of your company’s’ privacy policy. We do require a Cookie Policy to be in compliance with most local/state/federal laws. We have different types of policies for you to complete depending on where your viewers are based. Please consult with your legal or regulatory department about the content of these policies.

These menu options can vary based on the roles that you assign to additional users of the system. The other roles are:

  • Admin – Full access to everything about the site and billing
  • Editor – Can all of the slide out menu options
  • Moderator – Access to the Dashboard, Attendees, and the Event Moderation menu option
  • Auditor – Access to the Dashboard, Attendees

To the right side is the Account Pull down menu. As an Admin user you will have full access to all the additional items. All other roles only have Logout and Profile.

On the top you will see your site name. If you have more than One site that you are running, simply click on the drop down, and you will see all of your sites that you can manage. Information from one site does not carry over onto other sites.

**Each Site has its own Private Data Container, Registrix does not share data between the sites ***

When you first get online, you will want to get down to the Customization Menu area. When you site is fresh out of the box, all viewers can log in on the approved participants with an Email Address. In order to add the ability to require an Access Code, then you must go to the Customization, and Settings item

The screen will then present to a radio button and you can change to Email with Access Code. After changing the radio button, click on the Update button to save.

You can always return back to the Email only by clicking on the radio button Email Only and then click Update

The next important Customization section to setup is the Viewer Options. This area is about how the viewers will see things. We have added and explanation of each item on the screen.

The design type control allows you to use what is called Material Controls which is how interactions with text boxes and more as based on Google’s technical specification. Standard Controls are based on Twitter Bootstrap specifications. After you update this, take a look at what you prefer by going to the viewer page.

The default time zone will be used for reports that you are going to download and other screens that will appear on the dashboard that shows time. All of the time values in Registrix are saved in UTC and then converted to the time zone specified. What ever time zone you set here has nothing to do with the viewers time zone.

The other area of concern is the Grade. Registrix was designed for security and is intended to deny viewers from access. The Grade is all about a viewer and if they cut and paste the browser URL and attempt to share that between devices and other people that isn’t supposed to be online. Sometimes you have multiple events occurring on the same day and a viewer will open in a new tab all the events and then just tab between them. By setting this to Normal, this viewer will be allowed to have multiple tabs opened on the same computer and browser and tab between the events. By changing the Grading up to Strong and Strongest, if the viewer attempts to open a tab, then the system will eject them. On the Strongest setting, if anything changes on the viewers device, including the IP address, they will be ejected (mobile devices can switch between towers). The viewer will be able to log back in after they were ejected. Meanwhile on the weak Grade, if they send the watch page URL to their device, they will be able to watch without logging in. (same can be true if they share that URL with the outside world).

The tracking code is an area that your marketing team may require, so this is where you can delete or add additional tracking codes. Please follow the instructions on how to add this as if your code is not pasted correctly it will break the viewer page. After adding in these values immediately test the viewer pages.

There are two items that you must set the template’s to, the login page and the watch page. You can have as many templates as you want for each page. A Template will contain the logos, images and colors of the two different pages. So if want to create a fall them coming up, you can make a new template, called autumn and then upload the new fall background.

You can clone an existing template, this will make a copy of the template and then you can edit it. Since you have only one Login page, to make the template be used, select the template in the drop down and then click on Active. This will be the template that your  viewers will see on the Login page. For instructions on how to use the Setup the Templates, see the Using Templates in Registrix guide.

To edit the Template, click on Theme.

The Watch Page operates the same, except there is no Active button. Instead on each event, you can select the template to use per event. The template can change on the event without any issue. So you can make it later and then go to the event and apply the template.

Moving along, we are now working with our Approved Lists of email accounts that can access the system. If you are only going to work with ONE group, then we are set with just the Default group. However, if you want to work with different groups and define different access rights, then you need to start to build Groups.

  • There is only ONE Email account allowed. We do not allow duplicates
  • An Approved Viewer must be assigned to at least one group
  • An Approved Viewer can be assigned to multiple groups or a single group
  • The minimum data required to setup an account is Email address or EmployeeID

You are responsible to clean your email list. If your list has garbage data in it, Registrix garbage filters will try to remove it.

Emails accounts are not supposed to have any spaces, no double quotes, must contain the @ character, and end with .com .uk .whatever. If you upload susan”b@invalid our garbage filters may reject this specific account, but there are times that our filters will reject the entire load.
It is best to gather the data into Microsoft Excel, perform the Detect Duplicates, and clean up this list before attempting to upload it into Registrix

If you are loading a list between different groups, you must create separate Excel files with the accounts in the list. Registrix can add a person that has already been uploaded into group, but it will not remove a person from the group based on an upload.

When uploading a list, we have two methods Append and Replace. If you perform an Append all email accounts that are in this list will be added unless it is found in the system. If you perform a Replace, then Registrix will delete everyone that is part of that group and then create all new records. This means you lose all your existing attendee data as the attendee is connect to the participant.

We DO NOT RECOMMEND that you perform a Replacement upload 10 minutes before the show as viewers will have logged in. If this occurs then viewers will be logged out.

You can create users manually or by Appending an upload of viewers up to and during showtime. For detailed information about how to upload, see our “Creating an Approved Participant and Upload” guide

Moving on to the Events, if you are creating events throughout the year, then we recommend that you setup categories. This allows viewers to find videos based on categories, such as Sales Training, CEO Talks, etc. You can order the categories by dragging and dropping. Click on the up-down arrow and position it where you want it. Once you have the order set, click on the Update button to save. The viewers will see this ordering.

The difference between Live Events and On Demand Events is that Live Events will ask for Date and Times and calendar download information. On Demand Events do not have this feature.

Within each event category, you can order the videos to appear by dragging and dropping it. Once you have the order of display, then click on the Update button.

The Main event will show this event to the viewer after they log in. You can have only one Main event, (You can have one main event for each group). If there is no Main event, then the viewer will have to select an event to watch.

The Show to Viewer will allow this viewer to watch this event. If this is not toggled on, then the viewer will not see this event.

The gear allows you to edit the event. Send to On Demand will send this event to the On Demand Section and remove it from the Live area. Delete will remove the event entirely.

For additional information about how to setup the event, see out “Managing Events” guide.

Getting Started with Zoom and Registrix

This guide how to setup the Registrix Service in order to communicate to the Zoom Platform to create and run webinars within Registrix.

The Zoom Webinar platform is the industry leader in webinars. There are limitations depending on which zoom service you are subscribed to as to the amount of viewers permitted.

There are two services that needs to be setup to complete the entire project. There is the API connection and the webhook connection.

The API will allow you to sync the Registrix events directly into Zoom without having to load the Zoom platform. The webhooks will push changes of the Zoom platform into the Registrix platform.

You can choose to run the Web SDK or the Zoom client for your viewers. The web SDK has limitations on its functionality and is being currently being updated as of this writing.

API Setup

To setup the API Sync, open up your browser and go to marketplace.zoom.us and in another tab load up Registrix Vive.

To get started, In the Registrix Application, select customization, then Vendor Access Keys. This section of the application is used to store Application ID’s and Secrets from external providers. To get started Click on the Add Button and select Zoom JWT. If you cannot install JWT due to your Zoom access, you can select Zoom OAuth from the drop down menu. Our preference is that you use Zoom JWT.

You will be filling in the AppId and Secret of the boxes listed above. Switch over to the Zoom Marketplace and then log into your account.

Click on the dropdown called develop, and select Build App. In the JWT click on the Create button.

In the Information enter in Registrix Vive, your email address and contact name, then click continue.

Lead Capture

Using the Lead Capture Data Fields

This guide will outline how to set up the data capture fields within the Registrix platform

There are 23 different data fields that are captured within the Registrix application.  Each type of data field has a different purpose of data collection.  This guide will help you to decide what data field to use, how to set the label names and add values as selections for the Attendees to choose.

The instructions defined here work in both the Site mode or Per Event mode which is defined in the customization, settings screen.

The data entry performed here can be in any language that you choose to enter.  If you are using French, then you can enter French characters in these data fields.  You will continue to use the # character as a separator.

The only field that is required and to be enabled is the email field.  Every other field is then optional based on what data you are trying to collect.

From the left side navigation window, select Customization, then Capture Attendee Data Fields

The label name is what the attendee will see on their screens as the field label. There is an Icon to indicate what type of data field this row is assigned.  The icons are clickable and will open another window that expands on the size of the data entry.

The switches to the right of the field label allows you to display this field and make it required. The enable switch will display the field to the attendee, any field that is required must also be enabled.

The green recycle  will reset all the fields back to its default naming.

The numbers located to the right corner indicate the characters in use, and how many are available for this field.  Once completed click on the Update button to update this information back to the field label.

The country area allows you a choice to use Drop Down Controls to prepopulate all the fields and allows the viewer to find their location using these drop downs.  Because this is using a database to populate the fields, you must use Country in order to have State, you must use State in order to have City.  It is more than possible that our database in use does not contain every city/town in the world, you may have to choose Open Text fields if the majority of your attendees are coming from smaller cities/towns.

When using the Open Text fields, the browser autofill selection should work correctly for the attendee.  You are also able to have just the state/city or just the city with this selection

There are four types of drop-down selectors that are available.

The first part of this field label is the question, then add a # character and what the item name will be.  In our example:

Department #Benefits#Human Resource#Executive#Management#Marketing & Communication#Wellness#Organization/Learning Development#Other

Department is the label name, and #Benefit is a selection item.  You can have as many selection items up to a max of 500 characters.  Do not use a single or double quote in the label field.

There are two types of radio buttons that are available.  An attendee can only choose one of these items and they are all viewable at the same time.  We allow only two answers to appear, think of them as a Yes/No type question such as:  Do you have any nut Allergy ?  Yes/No.

The first part of this field label is the question, then add a # character and what the item name will be.  In our example:

Response #Yes#No

Response is the label name, and #Yes is a selection item.  You can have only two selection items up to a max of 200 characters.  Do not use a single or double quote in the label field.

There is a single checkbox option.  This allows an attendee to check as many boxes that are listed as selection items.

The first part of this field label is the question, then add a # character and what the item name will be.  In our example:

Check All that Apply #option1#option2#option3

Check All that Apply is the label name, and #option1 is a selection item.  You can have as many selection items up to a max of 300 characters.  Do not use a single or double quote in the label field.

The open messages allow up to three different fields that allows the attendee to enter up to 320 characters in a field.

The label entered into the field is the question that is presented to the attendee, which will a max character of 100.

Lead Generation / Data Capture Login Page Layout or Dimensions

This guide will outline how to customize the colors and images for the viewers login page and the video page of Registrix.  This is a one-time setup unless the branding has been updated and a new color scheme is being used.  The images that you need are your branding images saved to a specific size in order to prevent the Registrix application from an improper scaling of the images.

The most standard size monitor as of this writing is 1366x768.  The Registrix Application is designed to work on mobile sizes up to 4K monitor resolutions.

Your logo image should be a PNG/GIF with a transparent background.  JPG images do not have a transparent background, therefore the color used as the background must match the color that you put in with the header.

The following images should be accessible on your local computer to be uploaded into the system.  File names should be lowercase starting with a letter and no spaces in the filename.  File extensions supported are .JPG  .GIF  .PNG

Background images can be PNG/GIF/JPG files. This image will auto scale to the browsers window dimensions.  Registrix is unable to control the position of the image as the scale is determined on the browser.  We recommend a 16x9 format at 1920px by 1080px

The image listed above is the maximum width used at 1110px for the content of the login page.  The background image will be a cover and will auto-extend to use the browsers entire viewport.

Logo:   max-width- 593px   (css class is width:100% height:auto)

The Open_Text area has a max-width of 593px  (css class is width: 100% height:auto)

Creating Templates in Registrix

This guide will outline how to customize the colors and images for the viewers login page and the video page of Registrix using the built in Templates toolset.

Templates allow you to create different styles of how the pages are visible to the viewers.  You are able to clone an existing template, and then make the modification as well as create an entirely new template.

There is only one Login template that can be active.  You can setup the new template in advanced and then on the require date, you can make this new template active.

Events are attached to a watched template.  You can setup different templates for each type of event, if you require this functionality, or you can just assign all the events to one template.  If you modify that one template, all the events would be automatically changed.

To create the Login Template, click on the Templates slide out menu option, and then Login Page.

The Logo has a max-height of 40px and the width is not set.  The current logo width that is display in this example is 187px.

The video player/chat and description are is at a max-width of 1360px and will scale out in height till the end of the content.

Getting Started with Eventbrite and Registrix

This guide will show to setup the Registrix Service in order to use the Eventbrite Platform to sell tickets for an event, including setting up the webhooks, API Keys.

The Eventbrite platform allows you to sell online tickets for events and be able to promote the selling of the tickets on the Eventbrite Platform as well as getting Eventbrite Widgets and be able to sell tickets on other websites.  Once everything is configured correctly, then every ticket sale that occurs, no matter from what site, the ticket purchaser’s information will then be sent to the Registrix platform.  That purchaser would be able to log into Registrix about 30 seconds after the sale.

There are two services that needs to be setup to complete the entire project.  There is the WebHook service that must be setup and there is the API setup that must occur.

The API will allow you to sync all of the ticket sales from Eventbrite and place the viewer data into Registrix as Approved List viewers.  This sync manly occurs only when you have sold tickets prior to activating the webhook or if the webhook goes offline.

You will also be able to add the Get a Ticket button on the Registrix Microsite service in case a viewer is shared a link to the Registrix service.

After logging into Registrix, click on Customization, then Settings and select either the eTicket Email only or eTicket Email with Access Code, then click on the Update button.  This mode restricts the ability to add participants into Registrix except through the ticketing provider.

Setting up the Webhook

Log into the Registrix Vive application as an Administrator or Editor, and then click on Customization, then Webhooks.

Click on the Enable switch to active the service in Registrix.

You will then be displayed the URL to paste into Eventbrite.

In a separate browser tab, log into the Eventbrite Platform.  Under your settings in the upper right menu, click on Settings or Account Settings.  The options on the left side, expand on the Developer Links and select Webhooks.  Click on the Add Webhook button.

The next screen allows you to select what events to apply the webhook to, select all events or just the event that will invoke the communication of data

Switching between the Registrix Tab and the Eventbrite Tab, copy from Registrix and paste the URL into the Eventbrite Payload URL.

If you have multiple Registrix sites that you need connected to your Eventbrite Account, please contact with your Registrix Account Manager so we can give you an updated URL and Secret to use for all of the sites.

Be sure to check order.placed and order.refunded as actions.  Once completed, click the Add Webhook button.

API Sync Setup

The next service to setup is the API Sync Service.  This service once working will permit you the ability to force a Sync of Viewer Data from Eventbrite to Registrix.

To get started, In the Registrix Application, select customization, then Vendor Access Keys.  This section of the application is used to store Application ID’s and Secrets from external providers.  To get started Click on the Add Button and select Eventbrite from the drop-down menu.

You will be filling in all three of the boxes listed above.  To get to the Eventbrite Token page, click on the Open Eventbrite App Page.  A new tab will open and you can click on the Create API Key button.

You will be filling in all three of the boxes listed above.  To get to the Eventbrite Token page, click on the Open Eventbrite App Page.  A new tab will open and you can click on the Create API Key button

Enter your first name, last name, In the Application URL and the OAuth Redirect URI copy from Registrix the Redirect URI and paste into Eventbrite, In the Application Name you can enter something that relates to this microsite such as Registrix, add “livestream portal” in the description, check the terms agreement and then click on Create Key.

Eventbrite will then create the keys, and then click on the “show API key, client secret and tokens” in order to view the keys.

With the Eventbrite tab open highlight the API key, then click back to the Registrix Tab and paste this information in the App ID field.  Switch back over to the Eventbrite Tab and copy the Client Secret and paste this into the Registrix Secret field

After pasting this information, click on the “Get Auth Token after Entering Key and Secret” Registrix will then open a new window

Click the Allow button, the window will update and an Auth Token.  This Auth Token must be copied into Registrix as the Auth Token.

Click Save in the Registrix window after pasting the Auth Token, and you can now close the “Almost There” window.

If everything has worked perfectly, now you just need to click on the authorize icon.   This will now issue the final authorization code.

If the icon is now with a slash and when you hover over it, the label returns Deauthorize, everything is operational.  If you still see the authorization, contact tech support for assistance at this time

Syncing data with Eventbrite

In order to perform a sync, the API functionality must be enabled and working.

Syncing isn’t something that you have to do daily.  When a ticket sale occurs, the Eventbrite platform will send over a packet of data that will update Registrix in near real-time.  However, in the case that you already started selling tickets prior to setting up Registrix, then you need to allow Registrix to get the tickets that have been sold in Eventbrite.

To sync, click on Participants, then click on Sync.

Click on the Sync button.  Registrix will now state processing, and when finished the updates have been applied to the Approved Lists.

Adding an Eventbrite Get Ticket Button on Login Screen

You can easily add the ability to sell the tickets on the Registrix Login Page.  If a viewer was shared the login page, you want to make sure that the viewer can buy a ticket to enter.

This is easily done in Registrix.  You need to have both Registrix and the Eventbrite tabs opened.  In Registrix, click on Templates, then Login Page.  Select the Template from the Drop-down menu and click on Theme.

We believe the best practice is to have the Get Tickets Now button below the Login section.  As a lot of people will have purchased on other platforms.  Click on the Bottom Gear.

To Get the code from Eventbrite for the Button, open the Eventbrite tab, go to your events, and then manage the Event you want to get the button.  Expand on Marketing, then Embedded Checkout and then copy code, after you have the button styled the way you want it.

Switch back to the Registrix Tab and paste this code into the HTML editor, then click Done, and then save the template.  Your button should now be available on the login page.

Setting up Data point between Registrix and Eventbrite

This guide can be used to setup all the data points prior to the completion of the Webhooks and API.  For the instructions on setting up the WebHooks and Api, please see the “Getting Started with Eventbrite”

The Eventbrite platform is used to sell/refund online tickets for an event that is hosted on Registrix.  Anytime a viewer purchases a ticket on Eventbrite, that viewer would be able to then log into the Registrix platform.

All of the current business rules of Registrix apply during the connection of data between Eventbrite.  You must perform the copy and paste or typing exactly as the instructions provide otherwise the data will not be processed correctly.  Please do not use a mobile device to perform these steps.

Log into the Eventbrite Platform and then either Create an Event or select My Events. For information about how to setup the Eventbrite events, please to the Eventbrite documentations.

On the left side under the Event Editor, Click on Tickets

The “Ticket Name” that you create will be the Group Name in Registrix.  This must match 100%.  It is best to Copy and Paste from Eventbrite into Registrix.  Open the Registrix browser Tab and go to Participants, then Edit Groups.

If you add another ticket name in Eventbrite, you must come back to Registrix and add that same name into Registrix.  If you change the Ticket Name, you must come back to Registrix and use that exact same changed name.

Switch back to the Eventbrite browser tab and locate the “Online Event Page”, this is where you can enter your URL of the Registrix microsite, upload the thumbnail.  You can use the Webinar, Livestream or Add a Link.

In order to add the Registrix microsite link to the email of the Ticket from Eventbrite, Expand the Order Options, then select Order Confirmation.

The next Datapoint that must be entered into Registrix is the External ID.  The External ID is used to match up the unique event id from Eventbrite into Registrix.

Open the Registrix Tab of the event that you have created, and select the Permissions tab.

The external id comes from the Eventbrite Platform in the URL when editing the event.  Copy this number and paste into Registrix.

You have now completed the configuration of the data points.  You can get any tickets that has occurred.  Switch over to the Registrix browser Tab, then select Participants, Sync, and then select the Sync button.

Getting Started with Universe and Registrix

This guide how to setup the Registrix Service in order to use the Universe Platform to sell tickets for an event.

The Universe platform allows you to sell online tickets for events and be able to promote the selling of the tickets on the Universe Platform as well as getting Universe Widgets and be able to sell tickets on other websites.  Once everything is configured correctly, then every ticket sale that occurs, no matter from what site, the ticket holders information will then be sent to the Registrix platform.  That viewer would be able to log into Registrix about 30 seconds after the sale.

There are two services that needs to be setup to complete the entire project.  There is the WebHook service that must be setup and there is the API setup that must occur.

The API will allow you to sync all of the ticket sales from Universe and place the viewer data into Registrix as Approved List viewers.  This sync manly occurs only when you have sold tickets prior to activating the webhook or if the webhook goes offline.

You will also be able to add the Get a Ticket button on the Registrix Microsite service in case a viewer is shared a link to the Registrix service.

Setting up the WebHook

Log into the Registrix Vive application as an Administrator or Editor, and then click on Customization, then Webhooks.

Click on the Enable switch to active the service in Registrix.

The Secret of Registrix MUST match the Secret code that is being pasted in Universe.

If you accidently clicked the reset button, when the event is live, then you must paste this new code to the Universe system.

Switching between the Registrix Tab and the Universe Tab, copy and paste the URL and the Secret into the Universe tab.  Be sure to click on the Active checkbox and then click Save.  The webhook is now active in both systems.

This is easily done in Registrix.  You need to have both Registrix and the Universe tabs opened.  In Registrix, click on Templates, then Login Page.  Select the Template from the Drop-down menu and click on Theme

We believe the best practice is to have the Get Tickets Now button below the Login section.  As a lot of people will have purchased on other platforms.  Click on the Bottom Gear.

To Get the code from Universe for the Button, open the Universe tab, go to your events, and then manage the Event you want to get the button.  Click on the Embeddable Widgets in the Event Editor.  Be sure to select the Button Colour, set the Button Text and then click on the Copy button.

Switch back to the Registrix Tab and paste this code into the HTML editor, then click Done, and then save the template.  Your button should now be available on the login page.

Setting up Data point between Registrix and Universe

This guide can be used to setup all the data points prior to the completion of the Webhooks and API.  For the instructions on setting up the WebHooks and Api, please see the “Getting Started with Universe”

The Universe platform is used to sell/refund online tickets for an event that is hosted on Registrix.  Anytime a viewer purchases a ticket on Universe, that viewer would be able to then log into the Registrix platform.

All of the current business rules of Registrix apply during the connection of data between Universe.  You must perform the copy and paste or typing exactly as the instructions provide otherwise the data will not be processed correctly.  Please do not use a mobile device to perform these steps.

Setting up the Universe Event

Log into the Universe Platform and then either Create an Event or select My Events, then click on the Manage button.  For information about how to setup the Universe events, please to the Universe documentations.

Once the event is created, then select My Events, then click on the Manage button.  On the left side under the Event Editor, select Basic Information.  Scroll down the page to the “What Tickets will your offer ?”

The “Ticket Name” that you create will be the Group Name in Registrix.  This must match 100%.  It is best to Copy and Paste from Universe into Registrix.  Open the Registrix browser Tab and go to Participants, then Edit Groups.

If you add another ticket name in Universe, you must come back to Registrix and add that same name into Registrix.  If you change the Ticket Name, you must come back to Registrix and use that exact same changed name.

Switch back to the Universe browser tab and locate the “Additional Order Message”, this is where you can place the website that the viewers will be able to log in.

Switch back to the Universe tab, in the additional order message box, type in the name of the domain that Registrix has been configured.  Then highlight that text and click on the Link tool, then Insert Link, in the URL column enter the URL including the https://mysite.com

The “Open Link in a new Tab” if checked, will open a new tab on the viewers email message.  When the viewer gets the email message, the data should have been passed into Registrix and the viewer can log in.  This process can be completed in less than 5 minutes.

Enter a message that viewers will get one hour before the event starts from the Universe platform.  This message box does not support HTML messaging as of this writing.

Setting up the External Event ID

The next Datapoint that must be entered into Registrix is the External ID.  The External ID is used to match up the unique event id from Universe into Registrix.

Open the Registrix Tab of the event that you have created, and select the Permissions tab.

The id comes from the Universe Platform in the URL when editing the event

You have now completed the configuration of the data points.  Continue to the Sync Data between Universe and Registrix.

Participant Login Page Dimensions

The image listed above is the maximum width used at 7600px for the content of the login page.  The background image will be a cover and will auto-extend to use the browsers entire viewport.

Logo:   max-width: 688px / max-height:100px   (css class is max-width:688px;max-height:100px)

The “Enter your credentials” area has a max-width of 718px and center text.   This will allow for multi-lines to be created.

The bottom Cookie statement is required and the viewer can remove it by clicking Got It.  The cover image will be behind this area.  If the viewer clicks Got It the cover image doesn’t change its position.

Leading Zero in Excel for UserID

When working with employee ids you may face an issue with leading zeros.

This guide will outline issues with Microsoft Excel and Leading zeros.  Normally Microsoft Excel does not allow leading zeros in the cell unless you place an ‘ in the cell or the data is from a another system with a special coded 0.  This special coded 0 will not be able to be imported into the Registrix system.  The guide will outline a process to allow a leading zero to occur.

You must have the data in a Microsoft XLS file.  This guide will assist you in how to resave the file into a format that can be uploaded into Registrix.

The Microsoft Excel Steps

Have your finalized Excel document ready with all the data in the columns

Perform a SaveAs to a CSV file.

Once the file is saved, then close this Excel document.  It is best to completely close Excel.

Now locate the CSV file that you just saved in the Windows File Manager and double click on the CSV file

Excel will open and you will notice the leading zeros are missing.  To correctly place leading you need to highlight the userid column

Then right click over the A column after highlighting all the cells and select Format Cells

A new window will appear that you can specify the format of this column.  In the Format Cells, select the Number Tab and go down to Custom. In the type field enter the number of zeros that replicate the total number of digits the userid should have.  So if you have a six digit number then enter six zeros.

Now click on the OK button

You will now see zeros at the beginning of the number.

Then click on the Save icon locate to the upper left of the document.

Then in the center of the window click on the “Yes” button.

Adding a CNAME into GoDaddy for Registrix SSL

The easiest way to get a SSL certificate for Registrix is to add a CNAME record to the DNS service. You are then in control as when you want to revoke the SSL layer, you can delete the CNAME record. Registrix SSL certificate issue process will occur and issue its certificate as long as the CNAME record exists.

Go to the DNS management part of Godaddy. In your email contains the data to add into the a new CNAME record information. To get started, click on the Add Button

In the Type drop down, select CNAME

In the Host field add the NAME information from the email, and in the POINTS TO cut and paste the information in the Value from the email.

Do not have any spaces or (dots) at the start or end of the entries in order for this to work. Then click save.

Configuring External Domain Names

This guide will help you to understand the supported methods for pointing an external domain name to Registrix

Pointing a domain name to your Registrix instance has several different methods depending on the use case and current usage of the Domain name.

Registrix requires all communicate to be over SSL certificate. Each method listed on the following plans will state your involvement or effort into obtaining the SSL.

If your company has a wildcard SSL, we should be able to import this.

We must know the method you want to use in order to setup records to completed the custom Domain Name.

A TLD is the top level domain, which is something like: Registrix.io
A sub-domain is a word before the top level domain like: Live.Registrix.io

Important rules:

  • The A, and ALIAS records cause a name to resolve to an IP. Conversely, the URL record redirects the name to a destination. The URL record is a simple and effective way to apply a redirect for one name to another name, for example redirecting www.registrix.io to registrix.io.
  • The A name must resolve to an IP. The CNAME and ALIAS records must point to a name
  • The TLD does not automatically mean www
  • Not every DNS provider will allow a CNAME or ALIAS on the TLD, many will only allow an A record

If you are deciding to use a TLD for the domain name to publish to your viewers, the concept of the www in front of the TLD may need to be considered.

The types of records at the TLD level is depending on your DNS Provider.

Some TLD DNS Providers only allows an (A) record which points to an IP number which will not work in our current Registrix configuration.

If you are working with a DNS system that allows an ALIAS, which maps to another name, then this can be pointed to your Registrix instance.

A URL record redirects the name to the target name using the HTTP 301 status code, which may result in the lost of any QUERY string tracking information.

Method A

If the domain name is available (has not been purchased by any other domain purchasing service), Registrix can purchase it on your behalf and set it up to support all the Registrix Instances. Our domain purchasing is thru Amazon AWS Services.

SSL:

There is no involvement by the domain owner regarding the SSL or creating Sub-Domains.

Sub-domains:

Registrix’s NS server will create and host the sub-domain name records. We will only create sub- domains for this domain name related to Registrix. Any other condition, we will work on a case-by-case basis

Method B

Point the Name Servers (NS) Records to Registrix

This the easiest to setup by the domain owner. This method should only be used on a newly registered domain name and that it will be used exclusively for Registrix.

If you have any websites or services currently being used, DO NOT USE THIS METHOD.

To perform this method, log into your Domain Registrars website, and locate about where to setup the NS records. Then update the records with the information that will be provided in our email to you.

SSL:

There is no involvement by the domain owner regarding the SSL or creating Sub-Domains.

Sub-domains:

Registrix’s NS server will create and host the sub-domain name records. We will only create sub- domains for this domain name related to Registrix. Any other condition, we will work on a case-by-case basis.

Registrix tech team must be notified about the NS site records being hosted so that the records can be ready to go.

Method C

Set a CNAME Record to Registrix

This method allows your companies DNS provider to host the record and to create a CNAME to point to the instance of Registrix. You have complete control over the DNS records.

Set the CNAME to point to
Your instance of Registrix, such as: example.registrix.io
You can see this information looking at the top right-hand site

SSL:

In order to create the SSL certificate we can provide you a unique TXT DNS entries that will allow Registrix to issue the SSL Certificate, otherwise the email receiver of the Admin’s email record of the DNS will be sent a unique code to enter into Amazon in order for the SSL certificate to be approved. Without this being performed, a SSL certificate will not be approved and the Registrix service will not function. You have 72 hours to complete this entry otherwise we will have to reissue a new cname authorization.

Sub-domains:

You have complete control of all sub-domains.

“Registrix does not support an (A) record setup. Registrix IP address can and will change as we use Load- Balancers, Auto-Scaling Servers, and other technologies. Do not create an (A) record and point to an IP address.”

In the App Credentials fields this is where you will copy the API key and the Secret key and paste this information into the Registrix Vive Tab.

Once the keys have been updated in Registrix, click on the Save button and you should see the Zoom JWT line.

Switch back to the Marketplace.Zoom tab and click on Continue so that you are in the Add Feature part. Enable the switch Event Subscriptions and click on the Add New Event subscription

Click on the button Add Events, and scroll down and place a check mark on the Meeting Has been Updated. Then click on the Done button

In the Subscription Name type in Meetings and for the Event Notification Endpoint URL you need to switch your browser tab back to Registrix, and then click under Customization, Webhooks and enable the Zoom webhook. Copy the URL and paste this information into the Marketplace Zoom Event Notification endpoint URL.

Now click on the Save button in the Event Subscription page.

After a few moments the Zoom marketplace platform will present a Verification Token. This token must be pasted back into the Registrix Vive tab in the Zoom Webhook page and once pasted, click on the Update button

You have now completed the Zoom API and Webhook interface

The Token of Registrix MUST match the Token that is being provided by ZOOM.

Methods for Setting up Custom URL into Registrix

  • The ACNAME, and ALIAS records cause a name to resolve to an IP. Conversely, the URL record redirects the name to a destination. The URL record is a simple and effective way to apply a redirect for one name to another name, for example redirecting www.registrix.io to registrix.io.

We will only create sub-domains for this domain name related to Registrix.  Any other condition, we will work on a case-by-case basis.

METHOD B

Point the Name Servers (NS) Records to Registrix

This the easiest to setup by the domain owner.  This method should only be used on a newly registered domain name and that it will be used exclusively for Registrix.

If you have any websites or services currently being used, DO NOT USE THIS METHOD B.

We will only create sub-domains for this domain name related to Registrix.  Any other condition, we will work on a case-by-case basis.

Registrix tech team must be notified about the NS site records being hosted so that the records can be ready to go.

METHOD C

Set a CNAME Record to your Registrix instance

This method allows your companies DNS provider to host the record and to create a CNAME to point to the instance of Registrix.  You have complete control over the DNS records.

Set the CNAME to point to

Your instance of Registrix, such as:      domain.registrix.io

You can see this information looking at the top right-hand site

SSL:
In order to create the SSL certificate we will provide you a unique TXT DNS entries that will allow Registrix to issue the SSL Certificate, otherwise the email receiver of the Admin’s email record of the DNS will be sent a unique code to enter into Amazon in order for the SSL certificate to be approved.

Registrix IP address can and will change as we use Load-Balancers, Auto-Scaling Servers, and other technologies.  Do not create an (A) record and point to an IP address.”

Here is an article from Amazon about the DNS entry

Set up Zoom to perform RTMP Live Streaming

You must have a paid Zoom account in order to perform live streaming of your Zoom webinar.  You must configure this one time.

This configuration allows for attendee limits that are found within the Registrix Allocated Logins.  You can have up to 100 speakers be available, and have thousands of attendees watching on Registrix.

This method will allow you to have all your speakers login into the Zoom meeting.  You can then have them share their screen and control what speakers are on the stage.  You can then live stream this conference to your passive audience members that will be watching the event within the Registrix system.

To the left side of the screen under the Admin section, open Account Management and the select the Account Settings.

Click on the In Meeting (Advanced) in the center of the screen and then scroll down to find a switch called Allow live streaming Meetings and turn this switch on.

Click on the Turn On button

Now select the services that you want to use, normally YouTube and Custom Live Streaming Services.

Click Save.
